THUNDER ALLEY TOURNAMENT
Thunder Alley is a stock car racing game for 2–7 players with the feel and flexibility of a card-driven simulation. Drafting, teamwork, accidents, yellow flags, pit strategy, working to lead laps, and sprints to the finish are all included and bring the feel of racing to the game. Players control not one car, but a team of 3–6 cars. Thus, each race is not only a run for the checkered flag but an effort to maximize the score for every car on your team. Winning is important, but if only one car crosses the finish line, your team might end up outside the winner's circle looking in.
DATES & TIMES
Qualifying Race 1: Friday, October 23, 2015 starting at 4:00pm
Qualifying Race 2: Saturday, October 243, 2015 starting at 5:00pm
Final: Sunday, October 25 starting at 1:00pm
Note: Please indicate which Qualifying Race you are signing up for. Do not sign up for Saturday's Qualifying Race if you have already signed up for Friday's race. You will be allowed into Saturday's races if there is room available. Saturday's sign up is for racers that can't make the Friday Qualifier.
There will be a rules teaching at 3:00pm on the Friday for those new to the game or those who want a refresh.
RULES
There will be a minimum of four participants and a maximum of fifteen participants for each Qualifying race.
Depending on the number of participants, there will be one or more races on Friday’s qualifier. The winner of each race will automatically qualify for the final on Sunday. Each other racer will have their VPs recorded for wild card positions in the final.
Note: VPs for all races will be calculated by dividing the number of VP earned at games end by the number of cars in your team. This will make it fair to those drivers that have bigger races and thus less cars and less total VPs in a given race.
Saturday’s qualifying race(s) will be for new entrants that did not race on Friday and then if space allows racers that did not win on Friday’s qualifier. The winner of each race will automatically qualify for the final on Sunday. Each other racer will have their VPs recorded for wild card positions in the final.
Sunday’s Final race will consist of winners of the qualifier races and the highest VP participants that didn’t win a race will get a wild card position such that the final race will have a maximum of seven racers.
If there are any ties for wild card racers they will be resolved by a coin toss/dice roll officiated by a CastleCon staff member.
PRIZING
The winner of the championship race will receive a TBD prize.
